Overview

KN-36S Apparatus for Softening Point of Asphalt (Ring-and-Ball Test apparatus) conforms to the ASTM D36 Standard Test Method for Softening Point of Bitumen (Ring-and-Ball Apparatus). The apparatus covers the determination of the softening point of bitumen in the range from 30 to 160°C [86 to 320°F] using the ring-and-ball apparatus immersed in distilled water [30 to 80°C] or USP glycerin (above 80 to 160°C).


Features

1. Features a 7-inch color LCD touchscreen interface with an aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic design, ensuring simple and intuitive operation during testing.

2. Utilizes a glass-ceramic heating plate with magnetic stirring; the bottom-heating method complies with the latest standards. A PLC automatically controls the heating rate to meet standard requirements (5±0.5℃/min) and displays the heating curve in real time.

3.Offers switchable high- and low-temperature test modes and includes an over-temperature protection function.

4. (1) When the softening point is≤80℃, the heating rate reaches and stabilizes at 5℃/min±0.5℃/min within 3 minutes;

5. (2) When the softening point is >80, the heating rate stabilizes at 5℃±0.5℃/min after the test temperature reaches 60℃.

6. Equipped with a magnetic stirring function to ensure uniform temperature within the beaker; the stirring speed is adjustable and monitored by a high-precision sensor, displaying the real-time measured speed (r/min) on the test interface.

7. Utilizes photoelectric detection technology for the automatic detection and recording of the falling ball, eliminating the need for manual intervention. The equipment offers both manual and automatic detection modes, allowing users to switch between them based on testing requirements.

8. Features a multi-point temperature calibration function, enabling the displayed temperature to be precisely aligned with the actual temperature measured by a thermometer.

9. Equipped with a cooling system that automatically activates after the test to rapidly dissipate heat from the heating unit, effectively shortening the interval required between consecutive tests.

10. Includes a USB interface for exporting test data and temperature-rise curves.
